Peaceful silence in the air, smiles of joy all over the face; Group of friends always to care and continuous victories in life’s race. All of a sudden a tragic turn, No more peace in the heart; nothing more than tears in the eyes; None of the friends could play their part-in bringing out a burdened soul from its cries!
This is a common experience faced by you and me in some part of our life’s journey. When things seem to go smooth, there comes a painful twist. Everything seems to go out of control. There is no more strength to cry and many a time all we are left with is this question: “ Where is GOD when I suffer?”
The Bible says in Isaiah 43:1-2, But now thus says the Lord, he who created you O Jacob, he who formed you O Israel; Fear not,for I have redeemed you; I have casted you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm, when you walk through the fire you shall not be burned and the flame shall not consume you.
What an amazing part of the scripture that is valid to all of us even today. The LORD who created you and me assures us of His presence in whatever tragic situations of life we land into! But many a time we fail to believe in this promise when situations seem to go out of our control. Our faith shakes,we lose hope and ultimately we blame GOD.
My dear friends in Christ, be thankful when you encounter problems of various kind because you have been chosen to experience God’s abiding presence in your life. When you suffer, you are being given the opportunity to know GOD personally In your life. But this depends upon the choice that you want to make: Letting God to take control over the situation and be assured of HIS presence OR Blame God,take your control over the situation and finally land up in a mess. God allows suffering in our lives to shape us in His furnace, to prune us so that His glory is revealed through us. So in fact, when God lets us to suffer, He is very much with us. We ought to take time to question ourselves ‘do we experience His presence‘ or ‘do we turn insensitive’???
No matter how close an earthly relationship we possess, there are times that we have to face alone. No one can understand your extent of suffering, no one can endure the pain for you, no one can share your every feeling, no one can remain ever beside you, Except this one person JESUS about whom I talk! He is the only friend who is ever beside, no matter how difficult is the path you walk. Choosing Him or not is just for you to decide.
I just feel ‘the suffering ‘ as a beautiful childish play of our possessive LORD to make us understand, the only true friend ever beside is HE and HE alone. But never ever forget while facing the sufferings, it is “your same tongue” that has recited Psalm 23 so many times. Let those promises not be recited from our lips, but out of confidence and hope when we face impossibilities and the most toughest of situations.
“Where is God when I suffer?” is your question. “Where were you when you were blessed with all goodness?” is His question. Have you got an answer?
